Something old and traditional.
The gauntlet has been thrown elsewhere to build the ultimate Hemi or Flathead powered hot rod. So, how better to meet such a challenge than build it with a Hemi Flathead?

Re: Something old and traditional.
The heads and blower are from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland, and they are about the closest to the real thing you'll ever get. The detail is stunning and the Ardun kit even has the blanking plates for the exhaust ports in the block.
I managed to get some detailing done today.
I'm not looking forward to doing the drive belts and pulleys.

Re: Something old and traditional.
Bryce, I found a purple nailpolish that's a prefect match for ther joe Niti roadster, so that's a done deal.
Zen, I'm sticking with the rear from the kit. Looks more like Olds than Ford 9" so it fits the theme. The airbags will be replaced by a buggy spring, will probably do lever shocks too.

Re: Something old and traditional.
Maybe it's supposed to be an Olds?
I always just assumed that it was a 9" because that's what you usually find under there these days. Mind you, you pretty much usually find an sbc in the front and they put a ford in the kit...

Re: Something old and traditional.
D'ya know what really annoys me about the diff in that kit? They give you a separate rear cover but mould the front section in place. I'd rather have a separate front as that is the piece I usually want to detail paint.

Is the rear cover chromed? Can't remember. Having a chrome cover would be one reason to mould it separately but you're right. Separate front would be nice.

Re: Something old and traditional.
Got a little more done to the Ardun, somehow I'm thinking this one may take a while.
Since this is a street car, it's needs a generator (Flatheads should never have alternators) and the race car blower kit doesn't make it easy. However I managed to adapt one to do dual duty as genny and idler for the blower drive belts.

Re: Something old and traditional.
The R&M parts are so good it's hard not to want to detail the bejeesus out of it.
Pulleys and belts were much easier than I figured on.
