Re: Graffiti Coupe
Bit more progress. Having no end of dramas with final assembly of this thing. Oil filters hitting steering boxes, fans hitting radiator tanks, distributors hitting firewalls. Had to completely reconfigure my engine mounts to fix it all.
Could be a long slog to the finish line I fear…

Looking good Bryce, but don't ya love it when things just don't fit right!!
speaking of plates I did some up today & as for THX 138 I don't think many car guys wouldn't know what it meant.
Anyone know about the significance of theses plate?
Yup!
It wasn't the script number for American Graffiti, it was actually the title of a Sci-Fi movie.
THX-138 was George Lucas' first movie and the number appears in every movie he's made since.
Look closely at the back wall of the Millenium Falcon's cockpit in 'Starwars' and you'll see Milner's license plate. The irony is that John Milner's nemesis 'Bob Falfa' (AKA Harrison Ford) is also the pilot of the 'Falcon'.
It's hard to find in the Indianna Jones movies, but it's there, in all of them, as it is in all the Starwars movies.
The other irony of American Graffiti is that the '55 Chev would have blown the doors off Milner's little coupe as it was a purpose built 11 second big block powered lightweight race car, originally built for and starring in the movie Two Lane Blacktop.

Re: Graffiti Coupe
Puts pedant hat on.
The movie was actually THX 1138. But that wouldn't have fitted on a license plate.
No doubt there's a movie geek website listing all of the numbers appearance.

Re: Graffiti Coupe
Trying to finish this one off for the hot rod show on next weekend. Here’s an update.
Got the interior together. Had to scratch up a gauge panel and piston knob shifter. Steering wheel is from AMT ’51 Chev BelAir kit. The rest is Revell ’32 roadster.
Body is polished up now too. Made a vinyl roof insert from paper towel and painted that and the firewall satin black. Also foiled the stainless insert on the firewall.

Lookin' good Bryce.
I can live with the seat not being a perfect match, but I hope you have the pocket on the rh door trim so I can file his ticket there, under CS.

Thanks guys. I'm getting lazier these days Carps. Black interiors in chopped cars - who can be bothered...?
