Something different.....Mercedes +VW Golf = Mercolf?
This is a little project I am working on at the moment. I am using a Fujimi Mk5 Golf GTI as the base car for the project, but with a little twist.
I will be transplanting a Mercedes AMG V12 engine and corresponding drive train in the beast. It will have a full rollcage, striped interior and some track day goodies.
I have openned the doors (using some photoetch 0.1mm saws, which worked great!!) and I am making a one piece front that will be fully removable.
Some pics:
Engine is almost done (it is from the Tamiya S600)
Body has doors removed and front 75% clip assembled
The problem I have run into at present is that the floor of the internal tub is the same height as the door openning. I will need to cut it up and drop it to the correct depth
I'm also working on 'racing' up the dash. Some carbon fibre should help. Anyone have tips on how to make a dash mounted fusebox with all the different coloured fuses?

Volkcedes?
This is a big project. Lots of work ahead. I look forward to seeing it develop.
Not sure why you want to make a detailed fuse box but to each his own. Assuming they'd be blade fuses you need rows of small rectangles in translucent blue, green, red & yellow.
Id try using a piece of thickish clear (chunk of CD case?) and scoring a rectangular grid on it (I have a panel scriber which makes a nice wide slot but back of a knife blade would do it - use a ruler though).
Carve out some bits to resemble spare slots/gaps and file some of the scored lines wider.
Use Tamiya smoke to darken between the fuses.
To colour the fuse tops i'd use coloured texters. I have a set of very fine coloured ones which would be perfect. Made by Staedtler - I got them from Officeworks.

Are you a masochist or what? I'm really looking forward to seeing this one progress along.

Re: Something different.....Mercedes +VW Golf = Mercolf?
Small update.
I dropped the floor of the interior tub and boxed it in. Will need a fair bit of sanding and primer before she's ready for a cage and some details.
Also decided that a sunroof didn't suit the theme, so that was shaved. Will again need sanding......I hate sanding!!!!!
PS. I am definitely beginning to think I am showing masochistic tendencies.
