1941 AMT Ford Woody
This is my '41 woody , it's got a few mods from the stock kit witch include a wide steelies over the mags the kit came with, twin carbs and a scratch built front axle witch is a bit lower than i originally thought it was going to be!!
I'm thinking i might paint it flat black and a dark brown for the wood grain areas.

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
This is another of those AMT kits from when they turning out very nicely detailed new subjects which each had at least 1 major flaw.
'66 Olds 442 had bumpers that don't fit. "55 & '57 Cameos had too small glass. This one has a multi part interior & floor that is a
I think I ended up forcing it into place with G clamps and cable ties, flooding it with epoxy and then hoping it would all hold when I released the tension.

Zenrat, cheers for the heads up about the interior, the only other fit issue i have was with the 2 piece chassis but a few clamps and plenty of glue fixed that!!

Nice one, I reckon these things need surf boards.
Do I see a F5 Aggressor on the bench too!

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
I'm liking the way this thing sits, thinking yeller is a nice surpfin colour.
I've often looked at the interior parts and ten put it all back in the box and returned box to shelf. Nightmare or challenge? Hmmm, may have to wait and see how this one works out before taking box from shalf for another look.

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
hey troops ,just a quick update
i gave the 41 a bit of color this morning just to heel how it looks, i'm pretty happy with the flat black and i'm thinking i might do some red scallops on the front to break it up a bit and to match the interior color , I got some paint to do the woodgrain areas so i'll hopefully get that done sometime soon

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
Looks mean in black. Will you still detail the timber panels and frames in wood colour?

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
tezza, i have a couple of different browns to try on the timber areas, i'm yet to decide on witch one so i'll try a panel in either color and see how it looks

Re: 1941 AMT Ford Woody
Yep Zenrat nailed it
The interior is a reat pita.
Anyway here's a few shots of mine
I cut all the wood panels out and replaced them with real cigar box wood - it's actually easier than it sounds
Then I painted the frame to match
