EK Holden
Just finished this one for a mate. Took far too long to finish but it's done. Started with a Cavalier resin kit, threw the chassis away and used one from an AMT challenger.. yeah I know, it was the only thing I could find that was a reasonable fit. The rear seat on the interior tub had to be cut out and the bottom section lifted so I could get some rubber under the rear. Boneet was cut out and an engine bay from a 56 chev altered to fit, engine is a chev 6 banger out of ......a kit not sure on carb and aircleaner but I like this one. Grill was sanded from the rear till it was near paper thin so I could open it up, nearly F*cked it up, then it was Alcladed. Front and rear lights have been foiled and rears have clear red and orange on em.
Paint is custom mix white with a gallon of pearl blue, bit hard to see in pics. Interior is dark red, oh yeah, as he wanted a bench front seat I had to heaverly modify a front from an old AMT kit, plymouth I think.
Wheels are Pegasus 19" Chrome T's.
Don't know if I got the front screen in the right place, it looks crap but it's staying now.

Re: EK Holden
Nice build there Tubby.
The thing i hate about this kit is the way both the front and rear roll away from the roof. The front looks like its falling off.

Re: EK Holden
Great job out of an ordinary kit dude, the shape was always questionable on these ones. The guards slope as mentioned, the tail lights are huge and there's other faults too.

I hear what you're saying John, could be an easy fix but as it wasn't for me and the guy I built it for had seen it pre build and was happy the way it was, I left it. Just glad to get it done. Got an XY to finish now.TuffXR wrote:Nice build there Tubby.

Very nice! From what I am told this is not the best kit to work with so all the more accolades to you.

Re: EK Holden
Good job.
While it may not be the most accurate kit it looks like it'd make a good start for something radical

Re: EK Holden
Looks more like a caricature of an EK, but great job and very cool nonetheless. Good to see something other than trucks coming off your bench too...
Do the bumpers come chromed? Your alcladding looks great.

Haha, I was waiting for the truck dig Bryce, glad you didn't let me down.
Yeah, the bumpers are chrome but the front and rear lights are BMF, grill and rocker cover are Alclad.

Yes the kit ones, put it all together before I realised the front one looked like crap, to late to pull it apart.Rocket wrote:Nice work tubs just a quicky did you use the shitty vacuum moulded windows that came with kit or did you make your own.
