Toyota Hilux - Old School
Hey guys
I thought I would make a quick thread on this one. Its the Aoshima Toyota Hilux surf kit. Its box stock with no additional parts except for the MOMO type steering wheel of which I can't remember if it was a part of the kit or not.
This was my first go at a two tone paint job and I am pretty happy with how it turned out although I think the red needs a polish and a pinstripe probably wouldnt hurt. I am thinking yellow or blue. Any suggestions?
Paint is all Tamiya rattle can. TS-8 Italian Red and TS-14 Black. The interior is painted pale grey and the gauges are white decals that came with the kit. They are actually really cool with great detail. The chassis is red with a little bit of silver detailing but nothing too jump around about.
Other than the pinstripe, it needs a bit of BMF as the chrome work is painted silver and the tail gate needs to be two toned. I can't think of why I did it all black, I may have just got lazy. This can wait though until I get the other builds on my desk done.
Here are some pics. I hope you like it.
The wheels in the tray are to cover the joins of a part that is seperate from the rest. I don't know why they made it seperate as there doesn't seem to be any logical explanation but its all good.
