Abandoned HQ Holden Ute (Rusty)
This one I built a few years ago, I scratch built the body and then moulded it. The ute was based on the HQ wreck from the movie Buddies from the early 80's. I built it from memory. Since I have finished the ute I have seen the movie, and I got it all wrong!! (Bugger)
anyway I hope ya's like it. I might take to it with that rust stuff soon. Cheers

Re: Abandoned HQ Holden Ute (Rusty)
Shoey this stuff is amazing. You are a master at scratchbuilding and weathering. I would love to know a bit more about how you go about making all those details like grilles, dashboards, door panels and bed floors, etc.
I wouldn't touch this one - I reckon it's absolutely perfect as is.

Re: Abandoned HQ Holden Ute (Rusty)
I reckon that's a real abandoned ute tricked up in Photoshop to look like a model? Well that's how real it looks to me - mind boggling is all I can say. Shoey you're the man when it comes to weathering and aging mobile metal.

Shoey, that is absolutely incredible. I couldn't get anywhere that standard with a kit let alone scratch built.

Still my favourite out of all the models you've built Chris, it and your FJ are great models.

Re: Abandoned HQ Holden Ute (Rusty)
I have to agree with tezza, photos 1-3 look so real if it wasn't for the base showing in the photo, I'd say wot ya doing putting a real ute on the site, that is a fantastic job Shoey well done and congrats.

Re: Abandoned HQ Holden Ute (Rusty)
That has to be the best weathering and detailing i have seen in decades. right down to the window tracks and crank with the bare sheetmetal inner door panel

Damn.
Someone stole your rocker cover!
Very clean (haha..) scratch build.
A lot of us would be happy having just half of your skill mate. :-)
