Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Looks damn good. Not everything has to be slammed.
Test fitted the "glass"?
I had to build up the screen surround to get it to fit on the hole without gaps.
I hope you have no issues as that paint looks great.
If you have a gap at the top then remember that you can hide it with the sun visor.

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Thanks everyone,
I am very happy with how it is turning out so far.
Fred.... i remembered after i had painted it that some on here did have problems with the glass on there model. I havnt as yet test fitted it , so hope it works ok. It would probley look good with a tennis hat anyway .....
The tray will have a short, very fat cab rack and largeish side rails, just not sure what color to paint it ... maybe black tray with blue cab rack ??????
Thanks for looking

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
F##k. I know of no way to hide a crack apart from putting something over it (parking ticket, for sale sign?).
Try making a new one from acetate?

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
A form of acetate is the clear packaging that comes on some products.

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Acetate is flexible clear plastic. I steal it from the stationary cupboard at work where its kept to use as covers for comb bound documents.
But it is also used for packaging as Kane says.
Stuff like hi fi/TV leads where the product id sandwiched between 2 layers of plastic and them welded round the edge. Huge amounts will have been thrown away in the last 2 weeks.
Its flexible and can be cut with scissors. Tough to glue though. You may have to use epoxy.
Oh, and it scratches easilly.

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
You will also find clear acetate plastic on quality shirt packaging, among other products.
Overhead projection clear sheets are also useful - get 'em from Officeworks.
Cheap A4 size display books sometimes have clear flexible plastic covers that are also useful.
Otherwise the build looks terrific so far.

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Hi all,
had a bit of a change of plan for this one. Stoled the car trailer from the caddy project, going to put it behind the cameo with the stanga on the trailer. Painted the wheel centers blue.. think it looks very different, trailer wheels will be blue as well. Made the back tray today, and a towbar and ball as well.... coming along very good... just gotta work out how i'm going to make the rear door open.
The trailer... i filled in the front and rear side bits of the trailer, i wont to know what you all think of this so far ??? the idea is to put a gas bottle on one side for changing wheels on the stang and jerry cans on the other, then complety fill the rear ones ,maybe fit some toolbox locks in them.??? All will be painted 2 tone same as the cab.... will repaint the stang with some mad lines or something to make it 2 tone.
Thanks for looking and let me know what you think of the way its going...

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Hi all,
Got a bit done... engine bay all but done, cab glued to chassis, glass in,not sure about bumber colour ??? it's sliver now but was thinking maybe blue would be better, what do you think ?
Got some blue on the rear body, black next and clear.
Still got a few things to finsh off, Brakes etc etc.
Then back on to the trailer...
Let me know what you think
Thanks for looking

Re: 57 Chevy Cameo
Looks schmick Todd. Can't wait to see it all together. Since it has blue wheels you should keep the bumper silver just to break up all that blue. What are your plans for the side of the box? Stripes? Graphics? Logos? 2-tone?
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Shawn... not quiet sure about what to put on the rear box..
Think i will just put a few sponsers logo's on the same as what the car will have. It will be black on the bottom same as the cab.
Thanks
Todd
