2 for one offer from Hobby Link Japan - buy the 1/12 kit & get a 1/24 as well. Doesn't say who makes it.
$58 for the kits plus $73 for the (cheapest) postage.

Re: 1/12 Mustang Mach 1
Japanese kit manufacturer OTAKI originally made both those kits Fred. I built the big one for Hearns Hobbies back in the late 1980's? It's a magnificent model and at that price it's a steal. Otaki went out of business in the mid-90's but Doyusha bought the moulds and re-issued some of the big kits, including the Mustang.

Re: 1/12 Mustang Mach 1
At that price I would love one but im not paying more for postage than the model.
I wonder how much the postage would be on 3 or 4 kits if a couple of people were interested ? I would put my hand up for one if the postage could be knocked down !
Just a thought. EOI ???

...........Really?
You must not have seen the original movie as it's pretty damn close to the original "ELEANOR" from the 1974 "Gone in Sixty Seconds"

Re: 1/12 Mustang Mach 1
Actually the kit box art on Hobby Link's website incorrectly describes the Mustang Mach 1 as being from the 1971 movie "Vanishing Point". The car in that movie is a Dodge Challenger.
There may be some confusion because there are two versions of the movie "Gone in Sixty Seconds"?
The 1974 movie has a 1973 Mustang Mach 1
and the 2000 movie has a 1967 Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500
There's more info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleanor_%281973_Ford_Mustang%29

Re: 1/12 Mustang Mach 1
I'll take the later mustang, but the original movie, it was a legendary film, about an hour of car chase carnage, 100s of cars destroyed, who cares about the plot!

Re: 1/12 Mustang Mach 1
Actually, the sequel was called 'Gone in 60 seconds 2' (funny that). it featured a custom car called 'the slicer'. HBH was killed when the water tower collapsed on his car.dv8v8 wrote:there was also a sequell to the original film called the junkman but it was not as good as the original
junkman was unrelated, apart from being written, directed and starred HBH.
There's also the rejigged version of GISS called 'Deadline Auto Theft' which re-shot the 'acting' parts of the movie to make it less crappy. (although honestly, not much better).
bad on topic, i've got a 1/12 71 mustang, unbuilt, but it doesn't look much more detailed than a 1/24 scale.
