Valiant Charger (Mayhem version)
This is the Trax model of the Australian Charger. it's a 1/24 scale diecast VJ (1973 model) in sunburst yellow. i decided to rejig it to replicate the charger from the movie 'Suburban Mayhem'. This involved taking off the factory stripes for movie correct ones and adding license plates. i also changed the wheels. fortunately the colour was fairly close, but i did paint the black out on the rear spoiler. (rear wheel isn't attached in these photos, that's why it's wobbly).

Looks better with the movie stripes.
i've seen that movie but can remember nothing about it but the tag line.

um, maybe you fell asleep? it's quite a boring movie unless you're into "emotional drama"zenrat wrote:i've seen that movie but can remember nothing about it but the tag line.
what can i say, i needed an excuse to build a Charger.
Re: Valiant Charger (Mayhem version)
Changing the wheels gave a huge improvement to the look of that Trax Charger. How did you get the old wheels off?

Hey Fred, it's a 2006 Aussie black comedy about a wild teenage girl who wants her father murdered so she can inherit his wealth and get her brother out of jail. It's loosely based on the real life Van Krevel murder in Woolongong (August 2000).
Now back to the model car, which is a magnificent conversion as always. Chargers definitely look their best in brighter colour schemes.
Nice work!

Thanks Tezza. Rings a bell. Too much soap & not enough Charger IIRC.

Re: Valiant Charger (Mayhem version)
That is actually well designed. if you take off the rubber tire, the front of the rim comes away and behind it there is a screw that holds the wheel back to the axle.truges wrote:Changing the wheels gave a huge improvement to the look of that Trax Charger. How did you get the old wheels off?
Re: Valiant Charger (Mayhem version)
Thanks fo the tip! - I started pulliing mine apart trying to work out how to get the wheels off a while back but I was doing too much damage and gave up. Seems quite simple after all....
