VC Valiant ute
This project is currently stalled as I am struggling with the headers and a few other details (tail lights, rear window, grill) but thought it was worth while sharing.
It started out as the Hemi under glass Barracuda
After some cutting and shutting got to this
For the chassis I used a combination of the Revell 69 Dodge Dart and one of the Revell Pro mod rear ends
Used the Darts engine bay as well
and this is where I am currently at with it

I've been wondering what happened to this build, good to see it's still alive.

Re: VC Valiant ute
Not sure at this stage, there are a couple of issues that would need to be dealt with. First I want to wait and see how the rest of the car turns out first before I commit to anything. There isn't much point if I can't get the grill and tail lights sorted. The other issue is the rear wheel arches from the Hemi Under Glass kit are bigger than they would have been standard, they look fine with the big wheels but if anyone wanted a standard body this would be a problem. For now I will continue with the build with the possibility of a casting in the back of my mind.

Re: VC Valiant ute
Such a great idea and good work to date shouldn't go unfinished. I reckon I'd be completing this one to look at with or without an engine until such time as I could figure out the rest of it.
Well done mate!

Re: VC Valiant ute
Would love to say it is all done but.............
haven't touched it an ages. had a busy/crazy year last year and what time I had I distracted myself on other projects (trucks, trains etc etc). Hopefully will get back to the Val in the not too distant future.

Re: VC Valiant ute
Might get back to this one soon guys. Had a shocker year last year trying to juggle work and post grad studies. Then finished the year with a relationship breakup.
In the last couple of weeks I have got my modelling mojo back, just want to finish a few other projects first before I get serious about this one.

Re: VC Valiant ute
Ok guys, this is more of a tease than anything, have realised that I have done a small amount of work on the Val since the last set of pics. Not much but the front window now fits without fouling the firewall and has been cut back to suit the smaller 1/4 windows, and I have finished off the interior.
Major tasks left to do are the exhaust, rear window (including frame), grill and tail lights, oh... and a spash of paint.
