09 CHALLENGER " WIDEBODY "
Hello all, first i must congratulate AMT on the most pathetic rendition of a model kit! Firstly NO ENGINE, then NO ENGINE BAY!!!!!
If not for this short coming, i might not have set myself the task that i have.
Firstly , my inspiration, Fast 5 challenger!
The pathetic starting point,
Time to start cutting!
Bit of filling with plastic then putty.
getting there.
Lots more to do, add the pumped lower panel and build an engine bay next.
Stay tuned,

The inspiration is nice, lets see if you can pull off the conversion.

Nice work - you've got my attention.
I wonder if AMT is bringing back the concept of "Promo Models". Much cheaper to produce when there's no detail under the bonnet.

Yes Tezza, these were designed as a Promo - the first run of them were pre-painted and sold via Dealers (already rare I think).....if anyone wants a detailed version then the Revell kit is for them.
........I like your choice of wheels, but narrowing the fronts and a custom sleeve for the rears would look nicer.

Your right Paul, those look AWSOME! I am using Pegasus Vantage with the centre reversed for the rear, where would i get a set of sleeves like that?

The 23" sleeves are form Pegasus also, I just machined the back the accept the center from the Vantage rim.

A kerbside kit is better than no kit and I heard that AMT were to be producing a full detail one at some point.

Re: 09 CHALLENGER " WIDEBODY "
Working on the engine, pair of turbo's made from solder, sorted the wheels, milled out a lip on the inside with the dremel so i could put the centre in from the back ( thanx for the idea Paul) machined lip looks alot better. . Made a fire wall and radiator panel aswell. will find a suitable radiator and intercooler yet.
keep you posted!

09 challenger "widebody" final update.
Last update before being finished. Needed a bonnet scoop but nothing to tall or bulky.
Found an appropriate donor.
And straight out of the spray booth an hour ago. Not really set on the colour, but i'll see when its polished. It is actually a candy red ( looks pink in the pictures).
thanks for the interest, will post up in showroom in a couple of days time.
