Auto Union Streamliner 1937
This is Revell-Metal's 1937 Auto Union Streamliner world record car. The real car was based on the Auto Union Type-C Grand Prix racer, and was powered by a 6.5 litre supercharged version of the 16-cylinder GP engine. German driver Bernd Rosemeyer drove this car on the German Autobahn in 1937 at a then world record speed of 406kph. In early 1938 he achieved 429kph on a test run, but on the record run the car veered off course and crashed at over 400kph. Rosemeyer sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Revell-Metal's model is to 1:18 scale.
