49' MERCURY V10
Hello all, 2 lines to fill in with a new post, that threw me abit, hope i got it right, anyway this is the Revell 49' with the roof chop already done. Wasn't alot i could do with the body, so i concentrated on the engine. The rest of the model is pretty well stock except for a bit of lowering, pegasus wheels and some detail.
Had an old VIPER V10 laying around that needed a bit of a tickle along in the appearance stakes.Made the induction from part of the original v10 injection( centre chrome bit),
rest is scratch build from bits of tube and flat plastic with a couple of old headlights as inductoin inlets.
Paint is nail polish with some same colour ghost flames.
thanks for looking all,

Re: 49' MERCURY V10
Once again sir - you have raised the bar ......... STOP IT!!
A superb job Dale cant fault it. The flames could be just a wee tad more visible but thats just me .
Well done.

Re: 49' MERCURY V10
Thanks Dean, the flames were a weee bit more visible but i had a stuff-up and had to re-do the top couple of coats which had a pinch of colour in with the clear and sort of hid the flames more than i would have liked.

Re: 49' MERCURY V10
This is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Nice build mate. Just a one niggly annoyance with this kit. I have built this kit twice and the first time I did this I felt so stupid. There is a largish gap on the side of the engine bay to allow the hood "hinges" to fit in, this in turns reveals the white plastic of the interior bucket. I noticed this on yours to. I painted the area on mine with a semi gloss black. You probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it.
You have created a nice balance to the merc, ghost flames are a nice touch.
