Porsche 911 GT3R
Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3R with Hobby Design PE Kit and Studio 27 Decal set + various detailing extras
It's only a kerbside kit but has good underbody and interior details. Molding is very good, as you would expect from a newly released kit (had look very hard to find the parting lines on the body) although there are a couple of sink marks on the rear bumper which will need to be filled and sanded. I was disappointed there are no window masks provided in the kit, you would expect them in a new release kit these days. No big deal just a bit of extra work that's all. Another issue is the the fins on the sides of the front bumper (see reference photos) are not in the kit. There are 4 small indents which are in the correct location on the bumper that look like they are there to locate the fins but no fins are supplied!!?? It looks like they were going to include them but deleted them during the tooling phase. I will need to scratch build some now.
These are the decals I will use.
I started by stripping the kit chrome off the wheels as will be using Alclad to finish, then I fitted the Top Studio Wheel Nut Set which really gives the the wheels a lift as the molded detail is poor.
Will be fitting some machined air valves as well when they arrive.
Finished the clean up on the body, as I said earlier, the body was very good just needed light sanding of the parting lines and some filling of some minor sinks marks around the rear.
Assembled the Roll Cage, no issues here everything went together well.
Started work on the chassis. I'm not very happy with the very plain looking shock absorbers in the kit, so I'm going to replace them with some machined versions.

Re: Porsche 911 GT3R
I will be watching this one too. I can't believe the dud kit wheel nuts on that thing. After all these years and all of the improvements in Fujimi kits that they would still just put a blob where they could have put some detail. Top Studio to the rescue. Keep up the good work.
