55 FJ Mini Me
Just finished this one for a couple from Toowoomba. It's a replica of their 1:1 FJ Show/race car. The real thing has a Commodore V6 in it but they were happy to have no motor in the model.
Started with an ADR/ Cavalier resin FJ curbside. Mods included removing rear tail lights, smoothing dash and grinding out the bench seat to put modified buckets in with new headrests, pattern changed on rear seat as well.
Colour is Ford Velocity Blue acrylic lacquer with silver stripe and gun metal grey outline. Wheels an are from my spares box with trim rings from AMT's 49 ford coupe. Decals and plates were done by one of our forum members, he can put his hand up if he wants to be identified, thanks man, they worked great.
I had great pleasure in handing it over to them this morning, to say they were blown away was an understatement, makes it all worth while to know it will be looked after and treasured.
O.K. first pics are the 1:1 then the model.

Best replica of a real car I've seen in a long time. That is really sweet.

Seeing the real car and then your model it is easy to see what a great job you have done. This looks so right, nice work.

Re: 55 FJ Mini Me
Sure, it would be my pleasure to do a replica of your J Carps especially after reading your story. Let me know if you're serious, I would have thought you would do one yourself.Carps wrote:Very accurate replica, well done.
