it's looking good. don't forget to black out the grille or at least back-fill it with black (fill the holes with black paint).dv8v8 wrote:almost finished

A combination of primitive (or non-existant) rustproofing & salt on the roads in the winter will have killed a lot of them.
We don't appreciate how lucky we are here not having to deal with that particular nightmare.

Re: Daisy Dukes Plymouth
I don't think you actually understand the meaning of "rare" mate. It's got nothing to do with population numbers, in ANY, country. It has to do with availability... across the World & how many car guys, with $$, want those rare cars. I really couldn't be bothered with GTHO's or Monaros etc... They're not even close to rare Mopars.... When there's less than single digit builds, then maybe... If they actually were muscle cars... Which they're not.checkmate wrote:It's hard to look at any yank car as rare when you look at their build numbers, rare by their standards maybe but common as by Australian standards.
That comes back to population obviously but I've always laughed when reading how "rare" an American car is, "it's one of only 670 Mustangs that were made in that colour combo that year".
They didnt even make 670 A9X Toranas, or Ford Cobras, they made less than 100 HQ Sandmans and when you start talking early locally produced Chevs etc than some of them didnt even hit double figures.
So when I read production was down to 11,555 units I think it's pretty common.
Out of the Top 10 Muscle Cars, in the World, at least 4 are Mopars... The 70 Challenger Hemi 'vert ( 9 made ) 70 & 71 Cuda 'vert ( 9-11 respectively ) & the RR my mate has mentioned.... Those 70 & 71 Verts have sold for in excess of $4-5 million a few years back. Now go find me a Falcon/Monaro/Torana that can pull that kind of cash?! Pfffft.
Cliffo ... Mopar Or NO car

Just on the rarity question...it is very much on demand. I own an MG YT...the touring version. Only 870 made world-wide. Many of these succumbed to rust, accident, or wrecked for parts to restore sports car or had the body stripped off and a racing body mounted. Yet comparatively speaking they do not draw the same money as an MG sports car or US and Australian muscle cars.

Do not open the "what is a muscle car" can of worms.

It's not about to who? It's about rarity, be it Ford, GM, Mopar etc.checkmate wrote:Top 10 Muscle cars according to who??? Very open to opinion there my friend.
A 2 door, big block Hemi is ALWAY'S going to be rarer & bring in more $$ than a 4-door small block sedan. Simple.

Enough hi-jacking. Lets get this back on topic. I'll open up a whole new thread for the Muscle Car debate.
