Re: 57 T Bird
Thanks everyone, I've applied another thin skim of putty, I also brought the top of the rear wheel arches down, after I've sanded the putty again I'll add a small lip around the rear wheel housings and the header openings and blend them in
Re: 57 T Bird
after sanding back that putty I gave it a coat of primer and a coat of a contrasting primer for a guide, rubbed back the couple of high spots and found about five low ones
have started on the front bumper and will add a lip around the bottom tomorrow

Re: 57 T Bird
Thanks guys, have got it almost ready except for one problem area
theres basically a line that I cant feel but can see where the front of the wedge was inserted and every time it gets primed it shows up, I can sand it back to bare plastic and have reputtied it but as soon as its primed it shows up again. Suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 57 T Bird
These bits make you feel like throwing them at the wall don't they, what i have found is a few very dry coats of primer, light sand followed by more dry coats, usually works. Good luck!

Re: 57 T Bird
This is looking very good. And I thought I was a bit of a chopper! You have the balance of proportions on the body just right.
What filler did you use for the body coat? The stuff I have is too thickr

Re: 57 T Bird
thanks guys, I put a coat of sealer on yesterday so will see how that works out when it stops bloody raining.
Nota, I use as much plastic as possible then light applications of Tamiya putty, theres very little putty in this one at all

Re: 57 T Bird
Very very nicely done. That extra touch on the paint sets it off perfectly.
Keep at it.
