'33 Willys
The '33 Willys is the very first model I built back in 1984/85, which is the white one in the first two pics. I don't have the engine and wheels for my original '33, only have the body. It's interesting to see the two box stock builds, side by side but with a 30 years gap between builds.
The new Willys is a light metallic blue, gun metal grey two-tone with a light grey divide line. Decals are from various kits.
Pretty crap kit, nothing fits.

Re: '33 Willys
Very well done, the colors look nice. Just like a nostalgic gasser from the past.
I think I would have switched the tires as the tread pattern looks very off-roady.
I like the old AMT kits with fit issues. If you get them done right, you can be proud of the result. It´s more satisfying than building a "perfect quality" kit.
Cheers
Kevin

Re: '33 Willys
Seems to me like you've come a long way.
I'm not a fan of this kit but I do like what you've done with it out of the box.

Re: '33 Willys
Thanks guys!
You're so right about the wheels Kevin, whatever AMT was smoking when they designed this kit, must've been good. Maybe your supposed to drive this Gasser to the strip and then put on the slicks. Yeah, that's what I'm goin' with
I could've (and probably should've) changed the wheels but really I couldn't have been bothered. Laziness I guess.
Cheers Allan, I thought about re-building the white one but I prefer to leave it as is. I think they look cool sitting together, "Old and New".

Re: '33 Willys
it came out quite fantastic actually. another call for rebuilding the white one!
also those tires are in many kits (like the 73 mustang) and are horrible.
