Re: Wreck-scue 51
Trim is IIRC 2mm rod (or 1.6 - it's rod any way),
I carved a recess for it into the body with the tip of a file.
The trick is to use a guide to get both sides the same and the lines straight (or smoothly curved - you know what I mean).
I think I clamped a piece of rod to the body to run the file along but if I was doing it again i'd cut the shape I wanted from 1mm thick sheet, file it smooth and then superglue it to the side of the body.
After doing one side i'd pull it off (superglue if used sparingly is good for this as it won't melt the plastic underneath and can be carefully scraped, sanded or filed off) and then glue it onto the other side and repeat.
I think I used the tip of a round file that I had snapped off trying to open a paint tin (yeah, tool abuse R us) which gave me a slot the right width.
Then, I glued (styrene cement) the rod into the slot taping it in place until the glue had dried.
Of course an easier way is to just glue 1/2 round rod to the side of the body
