Wreck-scue #2
Hey there everyone, me again with another wreckscue on the bench. This time it was one of dads old builds. I was in the mood for a Pickup lowrider but the only one I have was a real pain in the A$$ to get right, plus lots of missing parts. So dad "un-willingly" handed this one to me for a re-build.
Plans for it is a full american lowride look with the Chassis and parts sticking through the tray, with a C/Z section chassis. Thinking of making the chassis from scratch as the current on is to bulky even with modding the rear, the front will look out of place. So it'll be a first for me.
So that I can detail the interior much better and cleaner, I have cut the door panels out for easier access.
Same process for the tray, needed cutting out to get the wheels up and in.
And well, playing around with stuff, I came across an idea of flipping the tray backwards to reveal the undercarriage and all. What do you reckon?
And I'll be running the Kranze LXZ wheels from Cliffo.
Will keep you up to date.

Look out the boy is on a roll. Cant wait to see what you do with this one Adam. I like the idea of the pop up back floor but how about a clear perspex floor ...something different.
Any ideas on color ?? Wild purple with a gold or silver 2 tone would look cool .....

Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
Perspex Floor? Might not go that radical Dean
Anyway, a little update time. I have made the rear chassis box to help get the car lower, and have the lowrider look.
All these things combined
magically turn into this...
How it sits in the back.
From the quarter of a rear end left from the dremel, I decided to cut the fuel tank to make it a little more realistic. That and a bit of flat plastic and Viola, I have a fuel tank.
More as it comes.

Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
Cheers guys.
The wheels are Aoshima Kranze LXZ and Cliffo on the forum here, managed to order a large varying selection a while back. You could try and PM him to see if he's got any left, otherwise eBay is your best chance.ADAMTEP wrote:Fantastic start to your project, nice chassis work. By the way Adam who makes the wheels? Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
Got a little more done on this, mainly chassis work and getting my tray to flip properly etc.
And this update is based around getting the ting to be lower and still make it look legit.
Instead of taking the easy way out and just cutting out the guards and leaving the tyres hanging through, I decided to make some sort of inner guards. So here is my work.
Plus a little something extra. Seeing as dad and I don't have a printer to make little magazine covers, I went with the next best thing I could make, a cup to go in the cup holders. Plus a Maccas sticker left over from my railcar.
All comments welcome.

Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
Great work on this build. And that Maccas cup was a brilliant idea. Maybe you should add a screwed up Big Mac wrapper on the floor, or one of those cardboard trays! lol

Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
it's good you've saved an old wreck and looks like you're having fun modding it.
Re: Wreck-scue #2 *Paint Update*
Been a fair while since an update, and to be honest, not much picture worthy has happened.
Mainly making everything on the chassis and body smooth and ready for paint.
Although I have got the engine done and picture ready.
And I realise that I never posted a picture of the dash. So here you go.
Will hopefully be all in undercoat at the least tomorrow.
