MORRIS 850
Hi guys. The XE Falcon is on hold waiting for me to get re-motivated again so in the mean time here is something that I started ages ago and have finally got aroud to finishing. It's a model of the Morris 850 that finished 2nd in Class A at Bathurst in 1963. I scratchbuilt the grill and the wheels and modified the seats, dash and gear stick to 850 spec. I also made the decals, a big thanks to the guys that helped me out with which program to use.
Some pics.
I have another 850 in the works ATM so stay tuned for that one soon.
CheersSS

Imagine what it would have been like going round and round Bathurst in one of those for hours and hours. What a hoot! Nice model.

Re: MORRIS 850
Second fastest ...and most scary (but mega fun) car I have ever been in was a Mini Clubman panel van ...lowered and a fully worked motor. Drove like it was on rails and left a few GT Falcons and monaro's wondering 'What just happened'
Very nice build Shawn. Where are the under bonnet shots ???

Oh no you're not having flashbacks are you?

I don't bother with engine detail on my Mini builds coz- a. it slows down the build time and b. you cant see it anyway.
That and I can't be bothered, I just build them as curbsides.
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Re: MORRIS 850
Our first car in Australia back in 1975 was a Mini 1100. We went camping with my wife's parents, tents, sleeping bags...the whole works...plus 2 guitars. We travelled all around the SE of South Australia and then drove up to a sheep and wheat station in the far north. All in a Mini. Fortunately my wife is only 5'2"...and she is the tall one in her family. Her mother said that she wasn't worried about being in an accident because if we hit anything, we were so solidly packed no one would move.

Re: MORRIS 850
Very cool build, my grandfather had one of these, replaced EJ wagon with it. I had a clubman, what a blast, especially after coming out of an XT wagon.

Re: MORRIS 850
That is one very neat Mini. As a Bathurst freak I'm impressed. Now all we need is a 4 door '70-72 Datsun 1600 kit to come on the market. Well done. the bodgie
