1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR
I built this earlier last year but when i went to put the chassis under the body i found that it was twisted and didnt sit straight,so with a bit of hacking from a couple of other kits this is what i ended up with.
The body is painted with a base coat of Tamyia Gold and topped with Tamyia Translucent Orange.
The inertia is original except for moving the transmission tunnel to the center, added PE seat Belts and made a new gear stick from a pin(lost the original one)
The Chrome on the side is stainless rod, didnt like the plastic ones
The Engine ,front suspension, fuel tank(scratch built mount) and wheel and tyres are from a Tom Daniels Jr Dragster kit
Scratch built the Magneto and plumed the fuel lines
The diff and drive shaft have been narrowed and shortened and are from and old stock car kit.
All the chrome is Spaztic Mirror Chrome
Here's some pics

ABSOLUTELY love the whole concept AJ, i like that "little bit left field" idea, great job, and very nice colour too.

Fantastic work buddy, was very beautiful. I just think the cables were a little out of scale, too thick. Congrats.
Hugs.

Re: 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR
Great little racer, I agree on the wiring and a black wash on the wheels would really set them off nicely !
Send me your postal address via PM mate and I will send you some correct plug lead wiring for nix !
