My Shed down the back
Thought I'd post my shed dio for all to see. This started as an idea for a photographic backdrop as I was looking for a better setting to shoot my cars against, but it got out of hand and turned into what we'd all call a diorama.
With the exception of the car parts most of it is scratch built, the only bought items being the drill press, trolly jack and the bench grinder. The rest of the stuff I built as required.
My idea was to try and make it fairly date neutral, so it could pass for a 60s, 70s or newer shed depending on whether it had a custom, stock or modern rat rod sitting in it.
Hope you guys like it.

Love it. Some great modelling. What is the size of the base that it sits on?

Re: My Shed down the back
Thanks guys.
MGY125 the base is 320 x 600, I know it's laid out squarely, divided in half back yard and half shed, which is a no no for dioramas, but as I said I didn't set out to build a dio it just evolved that way. Still, I'm happy with the way it looks behind cars, I'll post some shots of it I took outside the other day, the outside lighting adds to the illusion. ADJ

Looks freakin awesome mate. well done, the "time warp" effect works well, looks a lil 60's / 70's / even 80's country. I love it.

Re: My Shed down the back
Untill i saw the photo of it sitting on the table, i thought you were pulling my leg, it just looks soooo real. AWSOME job mate, the detail is incredible!! Right down to the signage, oil spots, and even some radiator rust thrown in aswell. The more i look , the more i spot, BRILLIANT!!

Re: My Shed down the back
I really like this. Its the little things that make the realism. Things like the disc rotor hanging on the fence, lights that work and the power cables that go them, that fridge better be full of beer ... just so much detail. As Dale said ...I keep finding new stuff in there (Just like a real shed hehe) I never saw before.
Brilliant

Re: My Shed down the back
Very good.
Maybe should have a model display case in there somewhere?

Re: My Shed down the back
Guys I've seen this in the flesh and it's awesome. Every detail has been thought of, right down to the rust holes and rust effect on the old '37 body out the back, you can stare at it for hours.
Where's the close-up outdoor shot, Twon?
This thing had better be in this years SA expo too!!!!

Re: My Shed down the back
This is one of a bunch I shot on the weekend, outside changes the look completely.
I'm not done with this yet either, still want to add a little more detail inside and finish off the roof.
Thanks for all the kind comments guys.

Re: My Shed down the back
Like TJ I've seen this dio in the flesh. It's a ripper. When you look at the photos is easy to forget that you are looking at a 1/25th scale model. If you look closely you can see the detail on the back of the fridge. It's stuff like that, that really makes this one stand out. Well done cobber.

Re: My Shed down the back
Thanks again guys.
Fred, do you know where I can get a selection of 1/25th scale...... scale model cars? I like the Idea of a shelf full of......err...scale model cars in my scale diorama.
And thank you Bodgie, the donated additions will be put in by the end of the weekend.
Cheers to all.

Thanks Shoey,
Got some more 1/25th tools to go on the tool board the other day, so I'll have them put in today!
Cheers

Any updated pics of this yet Twon?
And I could ask you this when I see you tonight but I'll ask here for the benefit of the other guys. How did you do the power cord plug ends?
