51 chevy fleetline
Well, its been 2 days since i finished the Challenger, wondering what to build next, spent a bit of time just looking at kits with the cogs turning over very slowly.
51' Chevy Fleetline. Ugly as all hell in stock form, ( thats just my personal opinion, lots of people love em,) sooo i found a roof in the parts bin, will maybe extend the rear guards a bit, fill in the rear wheel arches and sit it on it guts.
NOT!!
BUT, i think this will work.
fingers crossed, it will work out OK.

Re: 51 chevy Bel Air
No worries Allan, but i really dislike convertibles of this era, and i'm in the mood for some serious body mods, so look out!!

Re: 51 chevy Bel Air
What about a newer dash with four bucket seats with custom work around them, smooth the body skirts on the rear wheels, pan cake the bonnet and rear deck lid,Ya this model chevy is not the best looking, thats why I have not gotten one cut off the windscreen put a frameless one the layed back, dechrome it and paint all bumper bars grill body colour. you could even do it as a two seater roadster like a corvette, mold in the rear area, put a corvette engine in it and running gear, with a candy colour on it.

Re: 51 chevy Bel Air
How do you guys work so fast? Seriously.
Looks really good, I like the way the roof sits, adds another dimension to the design I think.

Re: 51 chevy Bel Air
Thanks for the input guys, and Kane, i get alot done coz i have nobody to tell me NO!! I live alone except for the weekend when Adam , (my son), comes down and models with me, and Retro, yes mate, i love the Billy Gibbons Cadzilla, so a few builds of mine have that style about them, particularly this one, thats why i lengthened the rear guards, to kind of take a piece from his own.
Got a bit done this week, plumbed up a flat head motor and layed down a gold base coat, which i don't mind on its own, BUT, more paint will be done tomorrow, don't exactly know what, but something will be done. I am figuring some lace work with some subtle striping to go with it.

Re: 51 chevy Bel Air
What the????? How have I missed this?? Love that wedge shape, I reckon a subtle paint job on this will compliment all the mods well.
Can't wait to see the next step anyway
