51/52 F100
this is my next project its Monograms 50 ford custom, want to build a tired old pick up truck so i got this kit and a new resin grille and dash from Kitchen table resins and im ready to go ......the kit is a custom version, it doesnt have any of the stock parts for the engine, and the grille doesnt just fit in there, needs a bit of body work done......not as straight forward as i thought. found some parts in my spares box and the engine is now stock, this is where im up to so far.

Re: 51/52 F100
i didnt cut them off, i sanded them down to about half the original size then drilled a very small (about the smallest bit i could find) pilot hole then redrilled the holes to about .5 of a mill (i think) and then fitted the plug leads and boots in the usual way

Re: 51/52 F100
That looks like you're turning it into a late model or F100, which could explain why the bits don't seem to fit well.
And then I read the title.

Re: 51/52 F100
Great to see that somebody would build my F1
I own a 1952 F1 and had build a model of it.
More about the model you could see My 1952 Ford F1 scale model
More about my you could see here 1:1 F1

I hate the front of the '50 F1. This is much better.

Re: 51/52 F100
These old F1s make a good candidate for a jalopy build. looks the part so far.
There was a tip in scale auto to drill the ignition distributor by putting some insulation stripped from wire on the nub and using that to help the drill bit stay on center. i've never got it to work myself.slowlylearning wrote:Got any tips for cutting the spark plug 'nubs' from the covers?
