SHELBY SERIES 1 DAYTONA
It seemed I would never finish this one but I realy enjoyed the build.
Base kit is the Revell Series 1 drophead & the rest is scratch. Guards are flared, roof added with bits of aero stuck on each end. I think I passed my skill level with the windows though. I had 4 goes at the rear screen before I was even close & don't feel like rushing into another one soon but it was interesting to try.
Paint is Tamiya Racing Blue & Pure White. Masking was a pain & took the best part of 3 nights to get right.
Thanks to Bruce for the wing too.
If anyone would like to stick a top on a Series 1 I would recommend a Viper rather than the Toyota I used as the rear screen is right
Hope you like it
Brian

Re: SHELBY SERIES 1 DAYTONA
That is rather INCREDIBLY AWSOME!!! Top marks for the amount of body mods you did to completely transform it into this, engine detail and every other aspect is just top notch. Brilliant work man, just brilliant!

Re: SHELBY SERIES 1 DAYTONA
Thanks very much for the great feedback. It was always a "what if they went racing" build on the bog Series 1 with a Group 3 racer twist which let me go with my favorite style - low, wide, flaired guards, big wheels, aero etc. A lot of the stuff I did on this I picked up from watching this site so thanks.
On to the next one now
