Built in 1960
I recently unpacked some model parts I hadn't seen for many years. The pictures are of two cars I built in about 1960.
I only had to glue one wheel back on. These were some of my first models and I either didn't put some of the suspension parts
on or they are lost. Some of the chrome has deteriorated too. The tires are also showing their age.

Re: Built in 1960
You could have said you built them last week, and they would have still looked good, they have survived very well, but your showing your age now mate, GREAT WORK on them both.

What a cool pair of old customs, great stuff. Even better to know they were built so long ago

Re: Built in 1960
Extraordinary on so many levels. That they survived in anywhere near this condition, first of all. The models themselves - so well conceived and executed. As documents of the style of the era and the materials we had to work with. That even then (and at such a young age ... ) you were "a cut above" what was being done. But for me, most of all, is the pleasure of seeing them so well rendered thanks to modern digitial photography and the internet - who would have dreamed...

Re: Built in 1960
Thanks guys for the thumbs up, I consider it an honor to get the feature shot on the forum.
These cars bring back a lot of good memories for me. They were built when I lived in Indiana.

Sweet.
Looks like you escaped the dreaded tyre melt.
These need to be kept exactly as they are and put in pride of place in your display area.

Re: Built in 1960
Thanks for comments. As mentioned, the tires have survived very well. I have some tires that ended up as a puddle , melted around a wheel. I have photos of a another car built around the same time that was successful in winning local contests but cannot find them. They are black and white which really show their age. I will post more as I find old builds.
