'53 Corvette Streamliner
Back at Bonneville at last
This started life as a donated part-started kit (thanks Bruce)
I wanted to do a period racer with it so I have kept the six & supercharged it. The way the supercharger is mounted will give me a good excuse to put a big offset scoop on the bonnet & move the driver to the right so he can see. I'm thinking about a D-Type headrest & fin to balance the offet scoop or maybe a central fin... dunno, I'll see what it looks like a little further along.
There will be a rigid cockpit fairing & maybe some wheel spats if my skratch skills let me get that far. The patches on the boot lid cover large holes I had to cut in the fold between the guard & boot to clear the wheels & keep it all low enough. Still a lot of body work to go obviously.
Anyway it should be something different !!!

Re: '53 Corvette Streamliner
Can I make a suggestion?
Either lose the tail lights completely or use them as a base for some massive fins.
Just my 2c.

Super cool concept. I'm looking forward to how you cover up that tough little 6-banger.

Re: '53 Corvette Streamliner
Just about have the body finished. Modelled the headrest on those used by Chev at Sebring in the late 50's to keep the theme going. Grill is the stock kit one with the back filed off, again to keep the Corvette thing going
Almost ready for paint, just got to fair in the lights & work out where the exhaust will exit, either sraight out the side or though the number plate recess at the back... still thinking!!

Re: '53 Corvette Streamliner
This is really cool. I originally agreed with Zen - lose the tail lights but now with that headrest and the way it sweeps back , it was meant to be. Top job.

Re: '53 Corvette Streamliner
Grrrrrrrrr-ooovey!
Headrest does work well with the taillight thingos but will it need tail-lights?
Why not exit the exhausts through them.

Wow the beast is evolving !!
I was thinking the same as the Zen Man, exit the exhausts through the taillights...........
