Triumph Herald

A good friend of mine just turned 60. In 1976 he owned a dark red Triumph Herald. For his birthday I though I would re unite him with that little car - as it may be sitting today.
I started with an Airfix 1/32 kit and four months later ended up with this :

  my mother had one of these with a racing harness in it...seemed like a bit of a contradiction to me, the harness was about the only thing that didnt fall off !

Thanks for the kind words guys. These Triumph Heralds were quite common here in Kiwi Land through the 60" and 70's. Rare now but oddly have seen 2 on the road in the last week.

My dad had a couple of these when I was a nipper - a saloon and a wagon.  Both died of rust despite his best efforts to keep it at bay.

Thanks. I didnt do a WIP on this as it was a surprise birthday present for a friend. I am about to go to Europe and the middle east for two months. When I get back I have to finnish Blue Bike. Then I will carry on with dozens of other dio projects I want to do. So I plan to be here long term. Always happy to answer any questions on how I did anything or what I used etc.

Thanks Kiwi, have fun on your trip. Im at a loss to find diorama supplies to naturalize scenes and the grass tufts and stuff you can get in stores here are plastic and look well.....like plastic. So any suggestion as to where to get life like dio stuff is appreciated.

Diorama supplies - I had the same problem but have spent dozens of hours searching on line. Grasses : The model train stuff seems to be the most common but it just doesnt do it for me. Grass Tuffs - There are 3 brands I recommend.
Silflor Mininatur / JoeFix Studios  / Greenline Fredericus-Rex.
I have been supporting the Australian economy for quite some time by shopping alot at BNA Models. This is an online only shop in the Melbourne area. They have Greenline and Joe Fix products. They have the biggest range of model stuff I have ever seen. Well worth a look.
For ground scatter - fallen leaves and debri I have found the contents of used tea bags to be great. Particularly the specialty teas like Green Tea and Peppermint tea etc. Dry the bag out and cut it open. I mix the contents of several different teas and then glue it to the base. 50 % PVA and 50% water.
Anyway have a look at BNA models online. Found them great to deal with.
In this dio I used some driftwood , mixed tea leaves and these grasses are mostly Greenline. The little moss growths on the log are from Silflor Mini Natur.
Finding the right products make a huge difference.

BNA are great. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
The only problem I have is that I don't have enough cash to get everything i want.
