Re: MM 2 Interceptor
Going strong , what about you cut of the nose cone and make up the headlight section like in the second part of the movie .
Re: MM 2 Interceptor
Thanks mate
I'd like to, but I'm not that good, still trying to work out which is the easier/better way to weather it

Re: MM 2 Interceptor
This is a fun kit and you're doing fine.
I weathered mine with acrylics (wont ruin your base paint). i bought a weathering set, but you could just as easily buy lots of brown colours. I'd suggest getting a crappy paint brush and apply it with a stippling motion (dab it forwards, rather than stroke it on). i paint different metals with a different weathering colour (eg light brown for muffler and dark brown for exhaust pipe.) mixing with flat black and silver to give even more variation.
Rust is as much of a texture as a colour, so a bit of dust can help rough up the surface.

Re: MM 2 Interceptor
I think instead of brushing the weathering on you should dab the brush in the paint and with your thumb scrape it across the brush which will flick the paint in the direction as if it was splashed up .

Re: MM 2 Interceptor
On a serious note "Deadly"... this is so far looking
awesome?...I must admit too never seen any other
Mad Max movies apart from the very first one, ( I can hear a lot of
"W.T. Hell" ) comments out there!.
But it is still interesting to see how the Mad Max "vehicles"
turn out in the hands of the builder!...

Re: MM 2 Interceptor
It looks good,
If you want a dusty look, you can put a acrylic dirt coloured wash through your airbrush.

I got a couple of these but never built one as they were rare as . I might whip one out later in the year , still watching .
Re: MM 2 Interceptor
Thanks heaps guys
Scummy, sorry I couldn't make it down for the maltesa's & coke, maybe next time HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..............might have to dig my MM1 & 2 out and watch them here
Hopefully in the next few days will get to Toyworld (only hobby shop in town unless I go to Rocky) to get some paints for the weathering.

Looking good, Deadly
You should make a point of seeing Road Warrior (mad max 2) as it's an epic car movie, and much better made than the first movie.Jerry Ol'55 wrote:.I must admit too never seen any other

Budget for Mad Max - $275 000
Budget for Mad Max 2 - $2 000 000
You'd expect it to be just a little bit better!!

Re: MM 2 Interceptor
Thanks aussie
I bought some paints yesterday to try & weather it, going to practice on an old junker 1st
Mad Max 1 & 2 are good......................wouldn't waste you're time on the 3rd one though ........................still, hanging out to see what the new one is going to be like
