41 plymouth gasser
Hi been working on this for a while now and have it in mock up stage, just trying to decide if I will use the blue steel rims or the five spoke rims on the rear. Have installed a supercharged and injected 426 hemi that still needs finishing off topped of with the scoop from the 33 willys panel gasser. Used the wheelie bar set up from the willys kit aswell with a few mods. Painted in duplicolor diamond white and used part box decals that I had then clear coated.Made up my own roll cage and going to modify front bench seat for shift clearance. Still deciding whether to use the original head lights or to put blanks in. Still a way to go and will update as I go along. Any comments welcolme, cheers and thanks for looking.

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
5 spokes and maybe leave the lights but find something more plain and less ornate. My 2 cents.

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Nice work so far VC, I'd really forgotten how ugly these old things were until I saw this post  So I dug mine out and had a look at it trying to get inspiration to build it and yes it's ugly!
But hey, don't let my B-S sway you, this is a cool build

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
You can mess with this all you want, but no matter what you do this is a very, very nice gasser. Your instincts are on the money. Go with them. Beautiful car!

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Hi thanks for your positive comments. As far as ugly goes yes I agree but thats why I like them so much like the 39 willys just something about them. Found a pic of the engine bay mock up still a way to go but hopefully I will have this gone in a week or two. Will post updates as I go along. Cheers and thanks for looking, steve. Any comments welcome

Yep! I'm liking the progress on this build!... but there's something about this car that reminds me of "Kylie Minogue"?...

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Hi started this build back up again, need to get some of my stalled projects finished. Started work on the interior and originally I had the stock bench in the front but it just didn't look right. Searching the parts box found these buckets, think they are out of the amt willys coupe pickup kit. Needed to scratch build some bases for them as they didn't have any and although you can only see a bit of them I think they will work. Also modified the dash to accept a gauge cluster and found the old school tacho in the parts box. Swapped out the steering column for some styrene and found a steering wheel from the parts box that better suited the build. Hope to have some paint on it in the next couple of days. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome, Steve.

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Thanks Dale went for the aqua colour as I was tired of the usual colours that I normally use making it that little bit more unique. Cheers Steve

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Hi started this one back up while I am waiting for good weather for painting as there a few changes I wanted to make to it. Started off by bringing the front of the car down a bit as the beginning of the build I had lower profile tyres but then settled on these tyres which raised the front so with a little cutting and sanding and a bit of glue think it now looks better. Also while in one of my parts boxes came across an old build up of a 392 hemi from the revell willys gasser so into the oven cleaner for a good strip and clean and now have it mocked up on the chassis. Have pinned the upper radiator hose to the heads and will wire and detail once painted But in using this engine have now had to remove the gearbox cross member and move it forward because of the new gearbox on the hemi. Have also go most of the wheelie bar set up done and finished off the body with bmf and a good polish. Hope to have some more done by the end of the weekend. Cheers Steve

Re: 41 plymouth gasser
Thanks ozmodeler for your comment. Have the engine in mock up at the moment and hope to have it finished this weekend. Have painted the block in model master hemi orange, stripped the manifold, supercharger and valve covers of their chrome and painted the covers and manifold in krylon metallic aluminum and the supercharger, injection in magnesium. Made up my own magneto and added the plug wires, still have the fuel system, hoses and blower belt to finish off. Am going to try something different with the belt as I pulled apart an old printer the other day and the belt is a perfect match just have to cut it to length and glue it together. Cheers and thanks for looking Steve
