Datsun 1600 Race Car
Here is my Dato 1600 race car that I built for our club display at QMHE a few years ago. Some of you may have seen it at QMHE or on another forum. It is the Hasegawa stock Datsun 1600, not the rally version. I modified numerous areas of the model to achieve what I wanted.
Changes:
Fujimi wheels and tyres
disc brakes all round
lowered suspension
enlarged and flared guards to accommodate larger tyres
scratchbuild roll cage
omitted 1 headlight to simulate air intake
drivers seat
driver to fit
race car safety harness and fittings scratchbuilt
exhaust by Dufasdave (I was an exhaust fitter by trade for 19 years)
paint is Humbrel purple and orange
I built the small display board to display it when it wasn't in the clubs larger display
Here are a few photos of the club display at QMHE Brisbane.

Re: Datsun 1600 Race Car
Nice work Dave - that's a neat little race car. Would be plenty of fun around Winton I reckon...
Any chance we can get a better look at all the 1/25 scale classic Aussie race cars in your display? In particular the Geoghegan Mustang, Beechey Monaro and Nova? They look great.

Re: Datsun 1600 Race Car
Bryce, these are the only close ups of the cars in question.
The Brock Torana is actually a ring in, its Diecast, every other car is a plastic model.
I can't take credit for all the cars and the diorama. It was a combined effort of all the car modellers in the club.
