Re: V12 Daytona
Well I figured with 12 cylinders and maybe a couple of snails on the exhausts there's plenty of things to monitor ... Still don't know what to do on the left, a glove box won't quite look right?

Re: V12 Daytona
Probably a chicken bar on the left for the passenger. 4 link rear end so you can go round corners !!!!!!!! I'd be more concerned with pulling this up for the corner but that might have more to do with my driving style!!!

What about another steering wheel & set of pedals to go along with the aircraft theme. Oh, and some more gauges.70cudatj wrote:Still don't know what to do on the left, a glove box won't quite look right?

That's a bloody good idea, I'm running with that Clea, I work around a bit of military gear and instruction placards are everywhere, that will work well, cheers mateclea wrote:What about......on the left,

Re: V12 Daytona
Thanks mate.
I went to Rod's Castlemaine shop many years ago and had a good look around the "Final Objective" '55 Chev, it's always been an inspiration to me and I knew one day I wanted to build an 'aircraft' powered car. But I just didn't think the '50s bodies were aero enough, so naturally being the Mopar devout I am the Daytona was a natural choice.
So here's a small update, building a center console and battery box;

Re: V12 Daytona
Tim;......Just a question.
Say you're out cruising Adelaide.....say with 3 mates.
You happen to come across a REALLY nice looking chick hitch hiking down Hindmarsh street.
1. Where do you put her?
2. How do you explain what all the gauges are for ?

Re: V12 Daytona
Nissan beige! ....I was thinking Boeing Olive Drab, nose art ... shark mouth, still not settled on that yet, black still has a chance ??
To be honest if I had real time to model I'd build two of these, one in the military theme colours and one all spiffy in a hot rod colour.
Updates ...
Tub.
Interior and battery box.
And just because I like to drive myself insane, rivets rivets rivets!!!
Cheers

Re: V12 Daytona
Thanks guys, here's a small update.
I decided the prop drive box wasn't right for a street car, tried to fit a Dodge T56 Tremec box but that wasn't big enough either, so Clea suggested a Lenco .... scratch, scratch, dig, dig and I find one in the spares box . Bit more cutting of the floorpan and it's gonna fit fine.
Now were getting serious ..................

Re: V12 Daytona
" rivets rivets rivets"... How many ??????????????????????????
This is one sick custom mate, the lenco looks like a great choice too,
i am not keen on the shark mouth though, drab olive, Yes, but never seen a good version of the mouth, even on the planes,
they look very "B" grade i think.

Righto, here's the weekends work so far .....
More trans tunnel work and extra chassis strengthening;
And a larger fuel tank, not sure even this is big enough for the Allison
Cheers TJ

Re: V12 Daytona
TIM....
That looks....AMAZING....
Not everyone could integrate blue tack into a build as subtely as you've done.
Love it.
Like the tank, better than the inane suggestion from elsewhere.
Doing well bloke.

Re: V12 Daytona
.... Yeah, I just couldn't work out how to hang saddle tanks off the wing
Damn Clea, you've worked out my secret assembly technique, that was supposed to be kept on the down-low.
This thing is just an evolving creation, don't have a solid plan ... probably won't until it's finished either
Still chipping away at it, day by day
