72 Chevelle

i have had a Jaymar fiberglass  HK monaro for a very long time, it was originally purchased to one day convert into a HG monaro, however Tubman makes a very nice resin HG and i have one, so i have decided to turn this one into a South African Chevelle, it will remain a curbside, so the chassis is a piece of styrene, the wheels came from my spares box, the interior came from The Parts Box (i think), the body was so thin i had to reinforce it by pouring resin inside, still got a lot to do but this is where i am up to so far

lot of work on this one not the best body to work with.

needs a bit of refining but got the grille sorted out

Did not know that they were called Chevelle in South Africa thought they were just called Chevrolet.
Grille looking good too.

early ones were called a Chevrolet SS but later ones didnt have the SS Badges and are refered to as Chevelles

looks cool so far. my jaymar body wasn't too bad.

interior is finished, and got some color on the body, still needs stripes.

Coming along very nicely. Wonder how many of these survive over there??

after a setback with paint, time and weather conspired against me but eventually the elements aligned and the paint was sorted out, hopefully there will be a lot more progress in the near future.
