Can any help me with some infor on Alcad paint,I see it comes in 1oz bottle, what I would like to know how far will it go,like how may coats do you get, what do you use for undercoat, would like to airbrush the 32 ford, what do you clean airbrush with,do you have to thin it to airbrush.still thinking which is the better way to go as I would like to put a gold down as base colour, with a red on top to give a candy colour, what a diffrent colour than the ones that I have used before.

Al, alclad goes best over gloss black ENAMEL. I find its better to wait till the black is dry. Very very light coats (usually three will do) wait a couple of minutes in between ,as low a air pressure as you can go. Do not thin!!! cleanup with lacquer thinners. Impossible for me to say how many cars you can do but if you're doing mainly exhausts, odd bumpers or wheels mine lasts about 20 odd cars, maybe a couple more.
Tons of red nail polishes out there if you're airbrushing use lacquer thinners to thin and cleanup.

I've got some Alclad to try when it warms up outside.
Also some nail varnish - $6 for 3 bottle at a servo last weekend - bargain. I'm kicking myself for only grabbing 3.
