ford explorer airbagged, on sills with scratch built chassis & billets
heres my ford explorer i picked up at a model sale $20 its 1/20 scale
iv scratch build the chassis with worknig 4link & front controls arms
with flake scratch built airbags etc plus iv also doored it which means
iv cut the sills away so it sits lower
here is a pic of before sills were cut off see whats hangn lower then the chassis table
u can see whats been chopped away from the sills here
start of the scratch build chassis
front end with uca's
scratch build 4link that works
with wheels on & laid out
at ride height
now sitting between the chassis rails
scratch built watts link set-up for diff
airbag mock up
now sitting under the body
updates coming soon

Re: ford explorer airbagged, on sills with scratch built chassis & billets
thanx guys i havent done much on this in the last few weeks

but ill get into it after new years &
happy new years guys

dont give up scratch building mate, i started with soldiering wire which blends great & can make some real nice flowing chassis but everything has to be spot soldiered then
id make them double thinkness & bog them to get a nice finish
but then tried greenleaf tubing & square tube which is great,
this my 1st with the plastic chassis's with greenleaf, jus draw out ur chassis design in 1/24 scale using the shell of ur model to find ur wheel track etc then mock up a nice chassis off ur drawing around ur wheels,
i could do a DYO step by step if u wanted, its pretty easy then the rest of ur chassis/suspension is wot u desire as a nice chassis with i-beam front with a z'd front & coil over rear will b my next scratch build chassis jus gota get more supplies 1st which i could do the dyo chassis designs then............................
if ud like haha
