Removing silver sharpie?? Help
I've gone and messed up the OK paint job on a WIP that I have going at the mo.
I've painted a car with auto spray cans (2 colours) and was looking at putting a thin line to break the 2 colours up and stuffed it up. I used a silver sharpie to do this. What's the best way to remove just the silver if possible? I would really like to keep the colours that I have on there so, would it polish off or something, so that i can try again hopefully with better results. I stuffed the silver up last night, so it's still fresh-ish.

Try to polish it off, that should work without messing up the paint. HTH

Re: Removing silver sharpie?? Help
Try some nose grease. It's a old sign writers trick for removing fresh enamel paint.
Just run your finger firmly down your nose and wipe the paint, use another finger and repeat process. but you only get a few shots at it as the oil from your honker doesn't last long.

Re: Removing silver sharpie?? Help
BEWARE OF WAX & GREASE REMOVER.
I've screwed up a perfectly good paintjob that i'd waxed by mistake using the stuff.
It took off the wax, the grease, the clear, the paint, the undercoat, the primer...
I'd suggest a carefull polish with something like Meguiars Scratch X. Although try a spit dampened cotton bud first.

Re: Removing silver sharpie?? Help
Might hurt crap paint from Bunnings but won't touch car paint, not acrylic lacquer anyway. If you use a polish that has no silicone in it you may not need to use W&G remover.zenrat wrote:BEWARE OF WAX & GREASE REMOVER.

Re: Removing silver sharpie?? Help
Thanks for all the help so far guys. Not sure what paint it is, I bought it the spray can at Autobarn, so whatever they normally are. I don't normally take much notice of what type of paint it is, just the colour. So if anyone knows the most likely type that'd be good.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier, damn work keeps getting in the way of me having fun here.

And I didn't actually read that again.
So lets just blame Checkmate and move on...
