Heavy Haulage Tractor Unit
It has been a while since I posted something. Been busy with other aspects of life - like my daughter turned 1 year old last week. Work and the holidays. I guess you guys know what I'm talking about.
Any ways I have been slowly working on another heavy haulage transport vehicle. This is the tractor unit that will pull the trailer (which is going to be scratch built, more or less). It is not 100% completed yet. Still got some minor paint touch ups, weathering and detailing to get it to the point where I will be satisfied.
Anyways, enjoy the pics of what I got so far. My inspirations comes from various tractor units I have passed by while in the car and from looking at pics I got from off the net. The weathering is as usual, a well used unit with many years of experience on the road.
The tractor unit is mostly heavily modified from two kits and some minor scratch building.

Re: Heavy Haulage Tractor Unit
I just can't believe the extent of weathering you get on your builds and how realistic it looks . I'd love to see a thread of how you build these to see the stages involved .

I agree with the above comments. Amazing weathering work and general worn look; worthy of an Oscar IMO. Do you use an airbrush for the very fine weathering cover? If so what pressure are you using and do you greatly thin down the weathering paints? Or do you use pastels and dry brushing techniques? Forgive my many questions but your technique is vastly different from many others I have seen on forums. Wonderful work mate.

I agree, awsome work mate, you turn a shiny new truck into an overworked pice of cr*p, exceptional work and talent mate.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. No. I do not own an airbrush. I use rattle cans to do all my painting and 10% of my weathering. Been using them back in 2002 when -i first started modeling 1/35 scale military models. I also use dry color pigments and my most used powder is real dirt or dust to be exact. I just learn to control the cans, which is not always easy because of the huge amount of spray that gets sprayed out. An airbrush would be perfect but I do not have the room for one.

Re: Heavy Haulage Tractor Unit
Just scratch built the trailer to go along with this beast. So now th ecombo is complete. Still have to add some details like chains and locking equipments. Sorry about the pics but it was hell to photograph inside with not enough light, as it was snowing outside.
