Hey there all, been struggling to get the bug lately, working too hard on 1:1 project, and the Kombi is just not doing it at the moment.
Just spent 2 hours going through kits and wheel combo's, finally settled on this idea.
70' Challenger kit with a set of Aoshima Racing Hearts, dropped quite a bit, and the Hemi should lend it self to a pretty serious Pro Touring set-up.
THIS,

PLUS THESE,

SHOULD = THIS!.

Fingers crossed, this will be the INSPIRATION i need.

Mmmmmmmm. I can see it in a deep golden orange fading to red along the sills with colour coded bumpers, the factory blackouts rendered in carbon film and very subtle ghost flames over the top of everything...

Yep do it!!! That is a killer combo.
Just saw one of these last weekend blasting round Darwin, purple with black outs...R/T 440...damn did it sound lumpy and did it go!!!
What's your thoughts on colour/s?

Got some of the stuff you don't usually see, cut out the rear wheel tubs, moved them inboard and raised them up to accommodate the larger wheels and being alot lower.
Pro Touring Challenger 00110
Also cut out the rear section of the tunnel and put in a larger one, removed the leaf springs and made some trailing arms instead.
Pro Touring Challenger 001_211
After a bit of filling and sanding.
Pro Touring Challenger 002_211

Next step, the front end.
Removed the inner guards completely. (Rear seat will need a major re-model aswell)
Pro Touring Challenger 003_210
Then, instead of them being attached underneath the fender, they are now attached to the side of the fender, which widens the front wheel well,
and allows you to sit the front wheels further up inside then, therefore sits alot lower, which is always good!!
Pro Touring Challenger 00410
Now for some more filling and sanding, should look factory-ish.
Thinking possibly two tone with colour coded bumpers ?? maybe, as for colour, still have no idea yet, will do the engine soon and see how tuff it looks, then the colour will hopefully come to me.

Nice work as usual Dale. Mate it has to be Vitamin C / hemi orange. Maybe some of your fancy paint outs in silver.

Im busting to get a model out but I am getting ready to get moving again. Im in Pinjarra (90k's south of Perth) and heading upto Leeman (300km north of Perth) soon for 2 weeks of fishing. Then I am heading inland to Cue (400k's east of Geraldton) where I am setting up camp (and the model table) for a month or 3. I have been given detecting rights on 2 gold leases so ....off I go into the red dust. Cant wait !!!

Keep at this one Dale ...it will look good!

Thanks guys, Dean, keep on enjoying that traveling mate , i'm envious. Yugster, i try to fill the bulk of the gap with plastic strips and plastic sanding residue with super glue, it doesn't shrink back like filler does. Then i will skim it with model white putty, (thats about all i can get down here, model shops are sh#t in Tas,). Then i use automotive spray putty in a bulk can, so i can brush it on.( Thats the yellow stuff in my pics.)

I have tried to make my own Hemi rocker covers, as i don't have any in my stash. Started with a pair of stock covers, then drilled 4 holes, and filled them with some hollow tube. Then had to fatten up the heads, as they were pitiful. Also modded a twin tunnel ram to take a late model style EFI setup which i also made from scratch.

Have made up a colour for this build, it is a very bright orange, not quite Vitamin 'C', more like an Extreme 'C', i'll call it. (Thanks for the idea Dean)
Partly assembled the engine, just now need to make a dizzy and plumb it all up.
Pro Touring Challenger 004_310
And also did a job on the rear seat, made it into a 2 seater in the rear. The console and dash will be orange with maybe orange harnesses aswell.
