DONE! 60's style '33 coupe show car
Well, it's finally done! Getting the headlamps to sit was a total pain. In the end I used epoxy, waited for it to almost set and then sat them in place, seems to have done the job. Now I guess I need to get stuck into the model A coupe.
A few kits died to build this one. Engine is the blown Olds from Roth's Beatnick Bandit. Rear wheels and tyres from little Coffin, Rear axle from 'The Parts Box' front axle & 4 bar from Scale Dreams, used the disc brakes that came with this on rear axle.
Front wheels and tyres are from Pagasus Hobbies, unknown brand and I can't find anything an any kit that matches.
The exhaust headers were on the Beatnick Bandit chrome tree but are not used in that kit. To make them fit, I had to modify the flanges so they mount to the engine opposite to how they were originally designed. The scoops on the carbs are from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.

Re: DONE! 60's style '33 coupe show car
After shooting in the garage, the car was loaded on the trailer and taken to a studio for the pro magazine shoot.
I'm pretty happy with the paint as it changes depending on how the light hits it. The base is white primer and colour started as Testors Lime Green Pearl, decanted from spray-can and mixed with my own blend of gold metalflake and red pearl powder.
The rear license plate housing is from AMT '36 coupe, recessed into body and the tailamps are cut from the Caddy bullet units in the AMT '49 Merc kit.
Rear spring came from the primered model A that's sitting at the side of the shed.
