Picked up another cast-off old racer......
This old warhorse was delivered today, it's TF106a, as used for the second half of the 2007 F1 season.
The operating theatre.
Foot controls.
Exhaust pipe made from 'unobtainium'.
Front suspension mostly carbon fibre.
Air goes in here, over there and around there........
.... comes out here.
Rear suspension mounting.
Feather light BBS wheel and tyre. Brembo stoppers.

Thanks for the pix!! looking at all that carbon fibre reminds me why I don't have any small scale versions yet, and it certainly shows how much work goes into the 1:1 racers these days.

Awesome - when can we go for a spin?
What's up with the TAKATA harness though? It looks much the same as the decals I just put on my Honda NSX.

Never mind me Carps - I was a bit confused. I just googled TAKATA and found out they make racing products. I thought they were a racing team...

Re: Picked up another cast-off old racer......
Not all Japanese are copiers. Sakichi Toyoda was an inventor and in 1890 invented one of the world's first automatic looms. Within four years he'd taken out patents on numerous inventions for his thriving weaving company including the world's first powered loom. In the late 1890s he sold the patent rights for that machine to an English company for almost two million pounds, Today, almost every piece of fabric in the world is woven on a descendent of that machine and the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works is still one of the worlds largestmanufacturers of textile weaving equipment and sewing machines.
The story of Sakichi and his son Kiichiro, makes Henry Ford look like a rank amatuer.
