kustoms 51 mercury build

hello gang my first post here and this is whats on my bench now. I started with an old amt 49 mercury kit and used the top from the new 49 mercury Revell kit . I corrected the top chop and chopped it a total of 5inches I used a rear window out of the 49 ford kit. extend the rear fenders to make it into a 51. I rounded the corners on the bonnet and nosed and peeked the bonnie with some brass wire down the middle. I then sectioned the body down the middle at the beltline a total of 3 inches to make it more stream lined. The front headlight besel's are from the custom parts out of the AMT 57 ford kit the grill and wheels are after market from Modelhause. I still have lots of body work too do a little bondo here and there and Ill soon be opening and hinging all the doors I think im gonna go with Kandy blue Over Allclad Chrome and pearl white tuck and roll pleats for the interior for that really kool 50's look let me know what you all think?

That should be one sweet custom when its finished. I like the sound of that Kandy Blue over chrome - should look cool and bright. Are those wheels final or just temporary to prop the car up?

Thanks for the comments Tezza43 Yes the caddy sombrero's are my wheels of choice the outer rim will be painted body color at some point. I spent many hours trying too decide from the many other wheels that I have My imaginary build date is pre 1962 nothing on my car will have newer style parts stay tuned lots more too come.

Thats look'n tuff as man!

Ive slanted the post a little for that streamlined look I still haft too make window chanlles and add rain gutters and Ill be opening and hinging the doors stay tuned more pics too come soon

thanks for all the compliments everone this build is on hold for a little while . Im in deep with my ford focus rally build ill get back too this one when im done its too nice to spend the rest of its life in a box lol
