Summernats 2010

Hey guys here's a few snaps from the nats, had a great day, cut some laps, went in the supercruise and caught up with a heap of mates.

Some sweet rides there. Been saying i'm going to go to the summerenats for over 10 years now but never made it there.... Maybe next year!

Well I missed going to Summernats this year! First time in 5 years I sat this one out and watching media reports ,saying it had the biggest entry list again. Thought it may have been a bit reserved due to the new management as it seemed if some entrants were going to do a wait and see for this year . Not So ,how wrong was I? I,ll start planning for next year.

I can tell you now they where both down on elite entries as well as all the rest. And they where also sayng that the walk through entries where down by 1/2. It was the worst one i have ever been to they shut the cruise track down by 7.00 pm and they where kicking cars out for the smallest thing over the whole week.

There was a group of 30 of us that went up and we had 25 cars with us and we have all said the same thing. They will want to make some very big changes for next year or we wont be going again.

On the up side The Screaming Jets where sh!t hot on the Friday night.

I think the main thing they need to change is banning alcohol from the event. It'll eliminate the dickhead factor heaps.

Oh Dear Shame on me . I beleived the media again . I saw on the modified car forum that many were not entering including me until we sussed out the new management ; sort of fear of the unknown etc,.

And about 90% of there sponsorship. This has been bought up time and time again, but they just do not want to no.

I hear ya mate, but at the end of the day if drunken tools keep damaging cars than people like us that own the cars aren't going to take them back and without the entrants they don't have an event. They'd make enough money off gate takings and entry fees not to need alcohol sponsorship, the whole event is based on dollars, not cars which is sad because it is one of the biggest "car events" on the calender.
