Re: Tumut NNL 2010
National Nameless Luminaries There you go Sports850, your'e probably more confused than ever now??? Originated in the good ol' USA where a bunch of guys wanted a model car show of a casual nature, less all the hype of serious competition, and more of an emphasis on a social type atmosphere with modelcars that aren.t quite as perfect. Hope this helps? Checkmate and others may add a bit more detail / history and explanation if they wish.
BTW I am booked for Tumut, Amaroo Motel organized .
Cheers Ron

Perfect , thank's Ron . I was trying to make it into National N????? Limited or something ... The concept of an informal comp/get together sounds like a lot of fun to .

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
Yeah it's a lot more laid back than a "serious" judged show. It's effectively entrants choice in every catagory. The cream still risers to the top, but it's a lot fairer system and everybody has an equal say in the results. It also encourages modellers to mix among themselves during the voting, by having the car guys "judge" the military stuff and vice versa.
It makes for a fun day for everyone.

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
Venue is finalised everyone, this years venue is The Boys Club Hall which is at least twice the size of last years venue. Its located on the Snowy Mountains Highway(Fitzroy St), which is around 2 blocks from last years venue, has heaps of parking and even easier to find! Looking forward to catching up with everyone again and having to move the van and clean out the shed for our usual Pizza night!

I'll be attending with Frank Morgan (editor ModelArt Australia magazine) to cover the show.
Any suggestions as to a good hotel or motel near the venue would be appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Terry

Tumut, my old home town. When we eventually take our holiday down that way to show the kids the area, may have to time it to match up with your show.

Hey Tezza try the Amaroo motel Capper St Tumut. Phone 02 69477200 and tell them that your coming for the model show and know me.
Cmon Rowdy, come home in April and join us for the show! Do you know me at all? Maybe you shouldn't answer that!

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
Hopefully I'll be there again, last year was great fun.
BTW, with an NNL 32 Ford, can the kit parts be modified in any way, or is totally from the box?

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
As far as I am aware there are no rules or conditions when entering an NNL contest, other than placing your model/s in the appropriate classes. You can do whatever amount of work you like to the model or just leave it OOB! An NNL is not a judging competition.

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
The NNL cup catagory, is effectively standard out of box Kane, thats why we choose a kit that has 2 or 3 build options so it gives you a bit of variety without having to add or cut up the kit.
So basically YOU CAN ONLY USE THE PARTS PROVIDED IN THE BOX, YOU CAN MIX AND MATCH THE OPTIONS AROUND BUT NOT ADD OR MODIFY IT.

Re: Tumut NNL 2010
Hey guys still flat out organising the show, got some great news yesterday, the local shire council is waiving the hire costs of the hall for our event! Woohoo win! Just got to try and sort out some more sponsors for the event!

They waived the hall fees!!!!! WHAT sort of council is that? Usually goes the other way. Well that IS a bonus. I'm lookin forward to the weekend. The Amaroo Motel is booked and paid for, so all I have to do is set the cruise on the Monaro and bring my models with me . I'll finish the NNL '32 Sedan this weekend. Hows that, no last minute rush. See you all at Tumut guys!
Cheers Ron
