TUMUT pics 2010
What a great day it was at Tumut. My first visit and it's a great town (bigger than I thought) with a fab timber history. The new venue is much larger with room to grow. Our hosts Rob and Brett were fantastic and looked after us all day. Thanks everyone for putting on such a top show of models. Nice to see a mixed bag of entries and not just civil vehicles, and also to learn that all monies raised go to children's cancer reserch. Caught up with some familiar faces too. Sorry we had to leave in a rush guys but it's a long drive back to Melbourne (we arrived home around 10pm). We can recommend the Tumut RSL for a good, reasonably priced nosh-up too. Anyway here are some pics from the display tables, and I've only concentrated on civil vehicles. A more detailed story will appear in the June edition of ModelArt Australia magazine. I may add more pics when I get a bit more time. Thanks also to Frank and Lea Morgan for putting up with me all the way there and back. Cheers.

Re: TUMUT pics 2010
Hey Tezza glad you could make it mate. Not sure who Greg is though, I think you mean Brett. He's the other half of the event with Letitia and me.(We dont have a Greg?) We had a great day guys over 650 models on the tables, over 75 entrants and a little over $4000 for CanAssist our chosen charity! Looking forward to next year already, great to see some new faces this year and hoping everybody's there again next year! If you need any info for your article Tezza dont hesitate to email or ring me mate.
Cheers Rob

Don't you remember Greg? He's the little gremlin who lives in my head and gives me bouts of amnesia now and then.
Seriously Rob, my apologies to Brett - I should refer to my notes and not rely on memory. So everyone, to make ammends it is Rob and Brett and here is a pic to prove it. Rob on left and Brett on right.
Also here is a pic of the new venue, complete with an historic pull-chain/string dunny flusher :
And on a more sincere note, here is a pic of the Alan Bell award plaque. I am told Alan was an exceptional guy and I could see the Tumut boys still miss his presence. The first two winners names on this award plaque are Paul McLennan and Bryce Michelmore. 2010 results will be posted when to hand.
Rob I will PM you.
Cheers,
Tezza

Re: TUMUT pics 2010
Hey Kane, your photos are great mate, got to get a copy off you mate. The trucks bobtail winner was a Peterbilt Joe Raddings built. The Kenworth pictured is Gary Walker's and it won a committees choice award!
Thanks everyone for the positive comments and a real big thanks for coming to our event and making it such a great day.
Cheers and thanks Rob

Re: TUMUT pics 2010
Hey Tony,
you missed a great weekend mate. Its an NNL show so everybody judges as its effectively entrants choice in all the catagories, and yeah there was some tough decisions with at least 4 of the car catagories being decided by only 1 vote!
We had people arrive Friday and we had the last of the remaining guys over last night for coffee and they ended up leaving at around 2am!
So it's been a great weekend to catch up and talk plastic, the hobbies looking strong from here!
Cheers Rob
