Re: NSW NNL Tumut
Well that was a long drive!!and the longest distance I've travelled for a model show as previously the longest trip was back in 2005 when we drove from the Sunshine Coast QLD to Grafton NSW! We headed off at 9:15am Saturday morning and arrived in Tumut just after 4pm (We had a few stops to let the kids stretch there legs)
We dropped into the RSL to say Hello to the event organisers who were busy setting up for Sunday's show. Then we headed off the our Accomadation about 5klm's out of town. That evening Rob had a Pizza session in his Garage which usually houses his Awesome Holden Panelvan.
Sunday Morning started out raining but cleared up quickly, We had a great Ultralight display happening right on our door step (the local airport was a couple of paddocks away)and the boys enjoyed seeing them buzz overhead!
After some great bacon and eggs we headed to the show!
we set up our trade table and I entered a dozen or so models along with some of Andy's rusties and Edsel's junior entries
The Parts Box traveled from S.A for the show and Allan was there with them! Nice to meet you Allan and I want to see that Chopped T Built!
There was lots to see with over 500 models on display!
NNL Cup category- everyone builds the same kit and must only use whats in the box and you can even use the BOX!
This was the winning entry(Next years kit is the Revell 49 Mercury)
This old Holden looks like it had a hard nights racing!
Lots of awards!(Yes Andy one of these cups is yours now!)
Andy won the theme category- USED,ABUSED & NEGLECTED! Here's the winning entry! He also got 3rd for his rusty Mercury.
This year there was a new award in the memory of Alan Bell who passed away last year.
Looking at Alan's builds he was a very talented modeller!
I was truly honoured to be the first winner of this award. (My 41 Willy's "ENVY")
Here's some various shots from the show!
I won my fair share at the show with 4 x 1st's , 5 x 2nd's and 4 x 3rd places, Gees they might not want to see me there again!! LOL
So you guys gunna go next year or what???

Re: NSW NNL Tumut
What a fantastic show! looks like you had a ball, and so many models - wow. Nice to see local RSL helping out with a venue. Thanks for bringing us these photos Paul. Maybe I can get them published in ModelArt Australia for you, and a short story to go with it? Let me know what you think.

I have plenty more pics to add still. There was a rumour at the show that Frank (ModelArt)was to attend but I guess it never happened. And yes we need to see all these shows in the Mag!
