Pair 'O 40's
I've got a couple of 40's on the bench at the moment, just some fun stress free building - .............(something I really need right now )
Anyway here's the first one which is a resto of an old build from the 70's...............1/24th Monogram Lemon Crate.
...and here's where I'm at,
the second 40 on the bench ain't no Ford or Chev but it is a ute, pix soon.................

Looks awesome mate! The colour combo makes it pop!! Is that just a gold/bronze or a custom colour mate?

Re: Pair 'O 40's
Here's my second '40.............it's a Willys!! I glue bombed one of these in my youth so this one's being built in honor of the one I destroyed
.....Paint is Testors Purple-Licious Lacquer, and there's some parts bin rear tyres and Johan front tryes with rims from the AMT '60 vette.
Sorry for the lousy pix.........I've got a bulb out in my booth

Re: Pair 'O 40's
Man that Bronze one has the best stance and wheel choice. I looked at the box art and then your creation, they don't even look like the same kit!
Like 'em both.

Re: Pair 'O 40's
Looking good there Paul.
That's a '41 Willys (despite what AMT say on the box). The '40 had the grille split into 2 halves.

Re: Pair 'O 40's
Must admit this is not the "pair of 40's" I was expecting to see, however the cars are just as good. Love that bronze colour and the louvred bonnet. That Willy's is sweet!

Heh, heh, heh.
That's not rivet counting (and there are 115 in that picture ), it's pedantry. Something i'm an old hand at.

Re: Pair 'O 40's
I was just messing with ya Fred ..................but it's actually quite common in the 1:1 world to add 41 fronts to 40's, and if ya look at the AMT kit it's a pretty bad representation of a 41 grill anyway!!

Re: Pair 'O 40's
Yep. There's almost no difference between the rest of the bodies and there were plenty of 'glass '41 fronts around at the height of the Gasser Wars.
Shame. I prefer the '40 nose.
