1953 studebaker
heres a popular fav i got this just to see what it was like and well i was very impressed with the kit so much in fact im guna buy the other 2 kits that were there well i had already primed the shell and painted it before i found this pic which gave me the idea for the path for the rest of this build
need a different set of rims but at this stage its a mafia staff car cant u just see this in an indiana jones movie or a scar face or godfather remake???
this is the racing engine that CAME with the kit when i get the other 2 kits ill use 2 of these engines in my rat rod project score one for me.

Re: 1953 studebaker
The TPB twin blower set up is not the Double Whammy one you've got there. It's from another kit (Model T IIRC) and is meant to fit on a small block chevy.
However, it's a pretty perfect fit on the AMT W motor from the '58 Impala.

Re: 1953 studebaker
well ive hit a snag with this project ive cut the inner axle rod bit down to fit the wheels in but its a fly poop out on each side so now i gotta find my cutting wheel for my dremel and make a slight...incision into the chassis to make the wheels fit i already had to cut the diff down so and rear leaf suspension so the wheels sit in the shell a bit other wise it looks like it has a hilux chassis sigh and unfortunately my dam phone went flat and i cant take any pics so now i gotta wait till tomorrow to update this thread properly

Re: 1953 studebaker
Great project - looking good so far. The right wheels will make a big difference to how this one sits.

Re: 1953 studebaker
Yes, this kit is a bit of a bugger to lower.
IIRC this is as low as I could get it without cutting away bodywork.
The front needed the bottom of the A arms grinding away to maintain clearance and the steering relocating above the cross member. Wheels & tyres are Revell '32 3 window.

Re: 1953 studebaker
There's ya problem right there!
Tyres too tall.
A set of wheels and tyres from a lowrider kit should see that sucker closer to mother earth! ;D

Re: 1953 studebaker
ive had to chuck the idea as i was altering the chassis i realised i cant modify the front or the shell wont sit properly sigh so im ogin back to the original idea of a mafia car look with the standard rims so i threw the chrome rims back in the parts box for a later project lol
