My dads 38 ford coupe
Well here I'm starting with a 37 ford coupe and hope to change it into a 38 ford coupe as it was my dads second car and he loved it. It's a suprise for his Birthday in June so I got some time to work on it. Any ideas on how to make a 38 grill would be really great.
This is what i've done so far.
Needs more work on my paint yet

Re: My dads 38 ford coupe
For the grille but you could use some wire to get the shape and glue it to the model. Keep up the great work Mrs.D

Re: My dads 38 ford coupe
Do you know what I mean? The wire would be used to make the horizontal cross bars and you might have to pinch some of bretts plastic for the frame.
Here is a stock one(what your making i guess)
And a custom one:
Basically the same thing but different parts are chrome and black, hope this helps

Re: My dads 38 ford coupe
Gday , what about modifieing a 39 grille ? I've had a look at the amt 39-40 tudor and it looks real close to what your lookin at . Good luck with it .
Re: My dads 38 ford coupe
Is your Dad's car a 38 standard, 38 deluxe or a 39 standard? these all look similar but have significant differences which could affect the appearance of yur model. The old AMT Black Force slammer kit was based on a 38 Deluxe and might help you out.

Re: My dads 38 ford coupe
Dads car was a standard 38 and i only have a small side on black and white photo to go by but I do know that its was painted in satin black and was a plain jane but that he loved it. Cant ask him to much about it as I dont want him to catch on to what it is I'm doing. So it's hard going for me. Damm I love a good challange aye. Not!!!!!
